Hen Party Decoration Ideas: How to Decorate for a Hen Do

1. Start with a decoration set

The easiest way to decorate is with a set that has everything for one theme in a single box. Each of our sets is £24.99:

2. Create a photo backdrop

Every hen do needs a spot for the group photo. A foil curtain is cheap, quick to hang and looks amazing on camera.

Add photo booth props (£4.99) for the funniest pictures of the weekend. See all backdrops and props.

3. Hang a banner

A glitter banner over the backdrop or above the bride's bed pulls the room together, from £1.99. Try Let's Go Party, Miss to Mrs, Her Last Rodeo, Dancing Queen or the Pink Bride to Be Garland. Browse all banners.

4. Go big on balloons

5. Decorate the bride's room

Surprise her with a decorated room when she arrives. Our Bride Room Balloon Set (£11.99), also in white and silver, has BRIDE letter balloons and heart balloons for the bed.

6. Set the table

A styled table makes dinner or brunch feel like an event. Our tableware sets (£15.99) give you a matching table for eight, with plates, cutlery, cups, a table cover, napkins and confetti.

Tips for a table worth photographing:

  • Pick two or three colours and stick to them, from the napkins to the flowers.
  • Add height with a centrepiece, a vase of flowers or a grazing board. Our Engagement Ring Grazing Board Kit (£4.99) is a showstopper.
  • Scatter table confetti down the middle of the table, around the plates or inside clear balloons. Try disco ball, cowboy hat, pink bow or pink diamond confetti (£2.99).
  • Finish with the drinks: straws and cups on theme.

Decorating tips

  • Check the venue rules. Many holiday lets don't allow confetti or tape on walls, so pack removable hooks.
  • Check how each balloon fills. Some are air fill and some need helium, so read the listing and bring a balloon pump.
  • Decorate before the bride arrives, so the first thing she sees is the full reveal.
  • Order in good time. We'd suggest at least a week before the hen do.
