7 Hen Party Activities the Bride Will Love

You’ve finally managed to secure the hen party dates; expertly organising it around 27 different diary schedules whilst securing the hotel of choice and juggling multiple dietary requirements. Now, it’s ALL about procuring those must-have hen party activities that the bride and the bride tribe will love. Ready for it?
The task at hand might seem daunting (are there tiny beads of sweat congregating on your forehead? Don’t worry, us too) but the secret lies in your organisation. Plan ahead, make sure your activities are easy to get to (or you’ve pre-booked transport), keep the bride in mind (and her likes/dislikes) at all times and don’t overbook yourselves - no one likes to be ordered about without time to relax and/or breathe. It may seem like a good idea to plan a jam-packed day full of activities, from boat trips to cocktail-making, go-karting to zip lining, but in reality, it’s not. Keep in mind everybody will want time to chill out and recoup from the day’s activities, be that in their room, at the hotel bar or by the pool, cocktail in-hand. A handful of curated hen party activities, designed with the bride in mind (and intercepted with good food and beverages) will go down a treat, trust us.

#1 Cocktail-Making Workshops

The perfect activity pre-hen night out, a cocktail making masterclass will not only provide you with some nifty skills on how to mix up your favourite cocktails with style, but a lot of laughs too. It’s also a great way to break the ice if you’ve got groups of people on the hen who don’t know each other, not to mention kickstart the hen party night out with a little pizzazz.

#2 Afternoon Tea

If you’re planning a girls day out shopping or you’ve got a date in the diary for a weekend away at your bride’s favourite city, a champagne afternoon tea at a luxury hotel or restaurant will instantly please. The perfect pit-stop for resting those aching arms (with all the shopping bags you’ve been carrying) and filling hungry (hopefully not hangry) mouths with mini tartlets and finger sandwiches, an afternoon tea is always a winner.

#3 Beach Club

For the jet-setters amongst you, it’s often worth booking a day at a beach club - especially if you’re heading to the likes of Marbella or Ibiza. And, take it from us - you’ll need to book it way ahead to secure enough sun beds for your bride tribe. Plus, if the loud, party vibe isn’t really your thing, there are more chilled options available where you can just hang out with your girls and make the most of the beautiful weather, moving only to take a brief dip in the pool and grab a fresh cocktail.

#4 Private Chef

Sometimes, you can have just as much fun staying in with the bride tribe, as going out. And, from experience, we definitely recommend a private chef for an evening! Not only do they rock up to your accommodation (ideal if you’ve all clubbed together to stay in a fancy apartment or country house) but they’ll bring all the ingredients and cook up a delicious three course meal! And you didn’t even have to call an Uber! Definitely better than Sharon’s spag bol again (sorry, Sharon).

#5 Get Crafty!

For those brides with a more creative nature, the idea of a flower crown making masterclass or something equally creative will definitely float their hen party boat. We loved this heavenly flower crown styling event (featured in the accompanying images of this post) put together by the talented Anna-Jill of Kiss From Fleur (a boutique event styling connoisseur), makeup artist Janine from Liebesart and the wonderful photographer Bina Terré. With the opportunity to create silk flower crowns in this whimsical setting whilst Janine Hohmann offered up her magical hair and makeup skills and Bina Terré captured it all (so the bride can keep the memories forever), its definitely a winner when it comes to a more relaxed, crafty hen party option in our eyes!

#6 Wine Tasting

For the wine lovers amongst you, a wine tasting session will definitely help not only break the ice, but kickstart the hen party celebrations in style. Whether you’re heading to a scenic winery in Cornwall with breathtaking views or a wine tasting session in the heart of Paris, its perfect for a slower-paced, more relaxed hen party weekend away.

#7 A Country House

If your bride’s more of a pyjama-than-party-dress kinda gal, a cosy weekend stay at a country house ensconced in the countryside will instantly appeal. Especially, if you pack the ultimate selection of hen party games! We’re thinking everything from Prosecco Pong to Pictionary, Never Have I Ever to For The Girls Game and basically, everything else you’ll find waiting for you on on Team Hen’s digital hen party games shelf. Paired with lots of good food, celebratory cake and your bride’s favourite cocktails, it’s a match made in hen party heaven!
